This series of Burnt Drawings is an ongoing exploration of the combined effects of burning, perforation, and mark-making. Working only with a wood-burning tool, simple drawing media, and an entomology pin, Enterline created these works in a combined state of obsessive frenzy and meditative calm. Dozens of delicate ink and graphite markings surround hundreds of singed dots, punctuated with still more minuscule pin perforations. The simple, portable nature of this process has allowed Enterline to create wherever the mood may strike: from the salty sea air of Mendocino, California to the stark white snowy landscape of Erie, Pennsylvania.
