ONE THOUSAND SOUVENIRS

Susan Cummins Gallery, 1999

One Thousand Souvenirs was exhibited at Susan Cummins Gallery, Mill Valley, CA in 1999. In 2003, it was exhibited again in the Crocker Kingsley 73rd Exhibition, curated by Gladys Nilsson at the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA where it was awarded Grand Prize Winner.

A souvenir is something kept as a remembrance; an archaeological snapshot, a residue of an experience. In One Thousand Souvenirs, each vial contains an object from the life of the jeweler or those of her family and friends. This installation, with its thousand souvenirs individually pinned in a regimented grid, provided Enterline with a method to collect, document, contain, and archive those objects. Each memory is cataloged and accounted for.
